Sungazing is an ancient practice that was utilized naturally and intuitively when people were connected with their environment. As our societies have grown further away from nature, we find the need to purposefully nurture our re-connection with Mama Earth, the Sun, and the cosmos. Inviting the light rays from the sun into your eyes will provide you countless benefits and support you on your ascension path. Combining your sungazing practice with grounding and mindfulness will intensify the effects.
Allow the Sun Rays into Your Eyes
To practice sungazing, simply allow the sun’s rays to reach your eyes. Sunrise and sunset are optimal times for sungazing, within 30 minutes of the sunrise and within 30 minutes before
sunset. At these times, the UV index is at the lowest points for the day. Absorb the sun’s energies into your eyes without barriers. So for best results, sungaze without contacts, glasses, hats, or through windows. You do not have to look directly at the sun, but gradually work up to sungazing for longer periods over time for no more than 10-15 minutes a day.
Being barefoot on the ground, beach, or grass will enhance your sungazing experience and benefits. This will ground you to Mama Earth as you connect with Father Sun. You can also utilize this practice to set intentions and offer them to the Sun.
